Sudeep starrer Pan Indian film ‘Vikrant Rona’ which was supposed to release on the 24th of February has been postponed indefinitely. The new release date is yet to be announced soon.
This is the second time that the film is being postponed. Earlier, the film was scheduled on the 19th of August last year. However, due to the pandemic the film was pushed further. The film was scheduled to release on February 24th. But due to the third wave of Covid many big releases like ‘RRR’, ‘Radhe Shyam’, ‘Valimai’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Acharya’ and others have been pushed further. There were speculations that ‘Vikrant Rona’ might also get postponed.
On Thursday evening, director Anup Bhandari took to twitter to announce the postponement of the film. ‘Despite our willingness to meet you all at the cinemas on Feb 24th, the present Covid scenario and the prevailing restrictions are not favourable for a grand release across the globe’ wrote the director.
Though the makers have said that a new date will be announced soon, the film is not likely to release anytime soon and will take another three to four months for film’s release. The makers have also ruled out a digital release and will release only in theaters.
‘Vikrant Rona’ stars Sudeep, Jacqueline Fernandes, Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Ravishankar Gowda and others in prominent roles. The film is written and directed by Anup Bhandari. The film which is being jointly produced by Jack Manjunath and Alankar Pandian will also release in 3D version and will be dubbed in various foreign languages and released in various countries.
