Netflix is planning to foray big in regional cinema and has roped in popular actors Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati for a new series called ‘Rana Naidu’, which is the Telugu adaptation of the American series ‘Ray Donovan’.
‘Ray Donovan’ is a popular crime drama and the show ran for seven seasons successfully since its inception in 2013. Netflix will be producing the series with the uncle-nephew playing prominent roles in it.
Rana Daggubati took to Twitter to announce the collaboration. ‘Always wanted to share the screen with my uncle and my dream is finally coming true. As much as I love him off screen, in ‘Rana Naidu’ we are going to be at each other’s throats. Coming soon on Netflix’ shared Rana.
Venkatesh bounced back with another tweet saying, ‘I have seen Rana grow up right in front of me from a young boy to a fine actor. But in ‘Rana Naidu’, he better watch out,’ wrote the senior actor.
Earlier, Venkatesh had played a cameo appearance in Rana’s ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadguru’, this is the first time that both the actors are sharing a larger screen space.
