Dhananjay’s new film ‘Hoysala’ has been officially announced with a first look poster on the occasion of Sankranthi. If everything had gone right, then Shivarajkumar should have acted in a film called ‘Hoysala’. But due to various reasons, the film did not launch and now Dhananjay is acting in a film with the very same name.
‘Hoysala’ holds a special significance amongst the Kannadigas as it is the name of a great empire that ruled Karnataka between the 10th and 14th centuries. Producer Ramu first announced a film with the name of ‘Hoysala’ in the early 2000s after the success of ‘AK 47’. Shivarajkumar was supposed to star in the film and dialogue writer M S Ramesh was to make his debut as a director. However, things did not materialize and the film could not be made.
Though Ramu went on to produce other films like ‘Rakshasa’, ‘Nanjundi’ and ‘Thavarina Siri’ for Shivarajkumar, ‘Hoysala’ could not be made due to various reasons. The title was with Ramu for many years. Now KRG Studios has acquired the title and is producing a film with Dhananjay.
‘Hoysala’ is a milestone in Dhananjay’s career, as it is his 25th film as an actor. With a title like ‘Hoysala’, the film has become much more special. The film is being produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj and directed by Vijay Nagendra.
Dhananjay plays a cop in this thriller which is set in the border district of Belagaum. The shooting for the film starts from April. S S Thaman is the music director.
