The shooting for Vishnu Manchu’s dream project ‘Kannappa’ is currently in progress in New Zealand. Meanwhile, Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar is all set to join this much anticipated venture for a prominent role.
Earlier, there were news of pan Indian actor Prabhas and Malayalam actor Mohan Lal playing prominent roles in the film. In addition to the impressive line-up, Shivarajkumar who is fondly known as Shivanna will be playing a role in the film.
What makes this development even more fascinating is Shivarajkumar’s previous connection with ‘Kannappa’. The actor was seen playing the role of Dinna (Kannappa) in the Kannada mythological movie in ‘Shiva Mechchida Kannappa’ which was released in 1988. Now he will be seen in another film based on the story of ‘Kannappa’. As of now, the team has kept his role tightly under wraps.
‘Kannappa’ is based on the story of Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee who donated his eyes for the sake of the lord. The film stars Vishnu Manch in the title role. Earlier, Nupur Sanon was said to be playing the female lead. However, Vishnu later clarified that Nupur won’t be a part of the film because of date hassles.
The pan Indian film is written by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Thota Prasad, Sainath Thotapalli and Sai Madhav Burra. The film is being directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh of ‘Mahabharath’ series and is produced by Dr Mohan Babu.
Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy are composing the music for this mythological film, while Sheldon Chau is said to be the cinematographer.
