The makers of Sathish Neenasam starrer ‘Dear Vikram’ have opted for a direct OTT release and the film will be releasing in Voot Select from the 30th of June.

Sathish explains the reasons about why he opted for a direct OTT release. ‘Four of my films including ‘Dear Vikram’, ‘Petromax’, ‘Matinee’ and ‘Dasara’ are waiting in the queue for release. A gap of three months must be at least needed between two films. This film in particular could not wait for that long as the makers are in a problem because of various delays. So, I didn’t want the film’s release delayed much long. Meanwhile, we got a good offer from Voot and that’s why we opted to have a direct OTT release, instead of a theatrical release’ says Sathish Neenasam.

The actor also lists the reasons for the delay. ‘Firstly, I had two getups in the film. Secondly, the film was to be shot in multiple locations and time periods. The film was completed before Covid. Because of the uncertainties the film’s release got delayed further and the film is now ready for streaming’ says Sathish.

‘Dear Vikram’ is an activist’s love story and revolves around Vikram and Nithya played by Sathish and Shraddha Srinath. Apart from the duo, the film stars Vasistha Simha, Sonu Gowda, Achyuth Kumar and others in prominent roles.

‘Dear Vikram’ is the second star film in Sandalwood to release directly in OTT. Earlier, Dhananjay starrer ‘Ratnan Prapancha’ was released directly on Amazon Prime.
