‘Samrat Prithviraj’ to stream in Amazon Prime from July 01st

Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ which turned out to be a disaster at the box-office is all set to stream in Amazon Prime from the 01st of July in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.

‘Samrat Prithviraj’ was released on the 03rd of June across the globe. But the film bombed very badly at the box-office. The film made on a budget of more than 200 crores, managed to garner 70 crores in its entire run. Now the film will be released in Amazon Prime.

Before the release, the film aroused a lot of expectations from the audience. A special screening was held for Home Minister Amit Shah and his family in New Delhi. Shah heaped showered praises on the film. ‘As a student of history, I not only enjoyed watching this film depicting India’s cultural heritage but also understood its importance for Indians’ said Amit Shah in his speech.

The film is scripted and directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi of ‘Chanakya’ fame. ‘Prithviraj’s is being produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF, while Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has composed the music for the film.

‘Samrat Prithviraj’ is based on ‘Prithviraj Raso’ a Braj Bhasha epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan and Manushi Chhillar as his wife Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashuthosh Rana, Manav Vij and others in prominent roles.
