The teaser and the first look poster of Akshay Kumar’s much anticipated film ‘Prithviraj’ has finally been released. The teaser which was released has got a rocking response from the viewers. One of the highlights is, the film will be released in IMAX format also on the 21st of January 2022.
The 82 second promo of the film was launched in the YRF channel of Youtube on Monday. The teaser has got an overwhelming response for its grandeur, VFX and the introduction of Akshay Kumar. The teaser has been shared through the social media handles of the production company.
‘Prithviraj’ is based on ‘Prithviraj Raso’ a Braj Bhasha epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan and Manushi Chhillar as his wife Sanyogita. The film marks the debut of Manushi Chhillar to Bollywood. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashuthosh Rana, Manav Vij and others in prominent roles.
The film is scripted and directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi of ‘Pinjar’, ‘Mohalla Assi’ and ‘Zed Plus’ fame. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is known for his teleserials ‘Chanakya’, ‘Mrityunjay’ and ‘Ek Aur Mahabharat’. Though Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi completed the script of the film a decade back, the film would not be launched as no production house showed interest in the film. Finally, Yash Raj Films decided to produce the film and the film was launched in 2019. The shooting for the film got completed last year and now the film is getting ready for release.
The film was earlier said to release coinciding with Diwali this year. However, due to a delay because of the pandemic, the film will be hitting the screens on 21st January 2022. ‘Prithviraj’s is being produced by Aditya Chopra under YRF, while Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has composed the music for the film.
