Sa Ra Govindu who lost the KFCC presidential elections to Ba Ma Harish a few months back is now back producing films. This time he has started a new film called ‘Belli Kaalungura’.
‘Belli Kaalungura’ was launched recently in Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah came over as chief guest and sounded the clap for the first shot featuring Samarth and Dhanya Ramkumar. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Vatal Nagaraj and others were the other guests at the event.
Sa Ra Govindu’s last film as a producer was ‘Minchina Ota’, which was released 14 years back. Now Govindu is back to film production with ‘Belli Kaalungura’. The title of the film is derived from the super-hit film produced by him 30 years back. ‘Belli Kaalungura’ was released in 1992 and was directed by K V Raju. The film which had Sunil, Malashree, Shivakumar, Tara and others playing prominent roles was a super hit at the box-office. The songs of the film composed by Hamsalekha are considered as classis even now.
Though the new ‘Belli Kaalungura’ has nothing to do with the old one, few characters from the original will be continued here also says senior director H Vasu, who has also written the story of the film. Vasu says this is a triangular love story and like the original one, the film will be shot in Hampi. Many actors from the original including Tara, Shivakumar, Avinash, Chi Gurudutt and others will be acting in this film also.
‘Belli Kaalungura’ stars debutante Samarth along with Dhanya Ramkumar. Gurukiran is the music composer, while A V Krishnakumar is the cinematographer. M S Ramesh has written the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
