Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has called ‘KGF 2’ director Prashanth Neel the ‘Veerappan of Indian Cinema’ for changing the mindset of directors in not only Bollywood but also other languages.
May 04th marked International Directors Day. RGV took to twitter to express his opinions about the current status of Indian cinema during the occasion. He wished Prashanth Neel a Unhappy Directors Day, but also called him the Veerappan of Indian cinema.
‘Sir, You made a quintal of money but at the cost of Indian film industry losing hundreds of tones of money because they will all spend on reshoots, redrafts, rethinks in reinventing themselves, but now knowing why ‘KGF 2’ worked’ wrote RGV.
‘KGF 2’ was released on the 14th of April and the film has literally broke most of the records of Indian film industry. It has become the highest grosser of Hindi cinema surpassing Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ and has crossed the 1000 crore mark.
‘KGF 2’ stars Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Rai, Malavika Avinash and others in prominent roles. The film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel, while Vijay Kumar Kiragandur of Hombale Films has produced the film.
