Ravichandran’s new directorial ‘Ravi Bopanna’ has proved to be a big disaster at the box-office. The film is losing out the audience to other films and has been declared a flop in the first week of its release.

‘Ravi Bopanna’ was released on the 12th of August across Karnataka with negative response from critics as well as audience. The film is a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Joseph’. Though the film was technically good, it was messed up with loads of glamour, songs and philosophy.

Ravichandran had announced the release date of the film in July itself, did not promote the film properly. Many did not know that a film of Ravichandran was releasing. Though loyal fans of the ‘Crazy Star’ thronged the theaters, they were mighty disappointed the way Ravichandran handled the film.

Morevoer, Ganesh starrer ‘Gaalipata 2’ got released on the same date and the film had aroused much expectations compared to ‘Ravi Bopanna’. With all these elements being added up, ‘Ravi Bopanna’ has bombed badly at the box-office. Ravichandran is said to have lost more than five crores from this film. Though it is being said that he has covered up half of the budget through satellite and digital rights of the film are sold, he won’t get much returns from the box-office.

‘Ravi Bopanna’ stars Ravichandran, Sudeep, Ramakrishna, Mohan, Ravishankar Gowda, Radhika Kumaraswamy, Kavya Shetty, Lakshman and others play prominent roles in the film. Ravichandran apart from acting and directing the film, Ravichandran has also composed the music and lyrics of the film.
