Sandalwood actress Rachita Ram had pinned a lot of hopes on her debut Telugu film ‘Super Machi’ which got released on the 14th of January on the occasion of Sankranthi. However, the film proved out to be a dud at the box-office.
Rachita Ram wanted to be a multi-lingual actress and had also spoken about venturing in to other languages in many of her interviews. After much wait, she got a golden opportunity in the form of ‘Super Machi’ which featured Kalyan Dev, the son-in-law of Mega Star Chiranjeevi.
The shooting for the film was launched two years back. Because of the pandemic, the film got delayed. Finally the makers decided to release the film on the 14th of January along with Nagarjuna and Nagachaitanya starrer ‘Bangarraju’. But the team failed to promote the film well and the film has got unnoticed amongst the viewers. Sources say that the film is a disaster at the box-office and with no decent collections.
The failure of the film has destroyed the hopes of Rachita Ram to make it big in other languages like Kannada. Rachita had not signed any other film in Telugu apart from ‘Super Machi’. With the film being termed as a super flop, it is yet to be seen whether Rachita will get any offers from Telugu in future.
Meanwhile, the actress is busy in Kannada with many projects. Rachita is currently acting in Darshan starrer ‘Kranthi’, Yogaraj Bhatt’s ‘Garadi’, ‘Shabari’, ‘Love Me or Hate Me’, ‘Bad Manners’ and others. She has five more films ready for release.
