Ramesh Aravind, Hema Panchamukhi, Akshay Anand, Dattanna, music director Manomurthy, producer Nandakumar, singers Manjula Gururaj, Rajesh Krishnan and others were felicitated at this event.

‘America America’ was big in terms of budget, making and the concept. The film is considered as one of the cult classics of Kannada cinema. However, it was not easy to make such a film in those times says Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar.

Speaking on the occasion, ‘Many producers and financiers laughed at us. They questioned us, whether we know where America is? In spite of that, we worked hard and the film was a huge success. The cast and crew got connected well and that is the secret of the success of the film. If not for Ramesh Araind’s acting, Manomurthy’s music, Rajesh’s singing the film would not have been what is today. Because of everybody’s work the film became a hit’ says Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar.

Ramesh Aravind says that it is not possible to make ‘America America’ again. ‘It is one of the signature films of my careers. My character is universal and carries a lot of emotions. That is the first film I shot abroad. When Nagatihalli narrated the role, the role impressed me and I was a part of the film’ says Ramesh Aravind.
