Kamal Haasan remembers Dr Raj, Puttanna, Karnad and B V Karanth

Kollywood actor Kamal Haasan has said that he is a big fan of Jnanapeeth Award winner and well known actor-director Girish Karnad and has said that the people never realized what a great man when he was alive.

Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Vikram’ is all set to hit the screens on the 03rd of June worldwide. Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan was in Bangalore to promote his latest film.

The ‘Ulaganayagan’ remembered that he used to come to Bangalore frequently in the later 70s. ‘Whenever Puttanna Kanagal made a film, my guru K Balachander would bring me to Bangalore to watch the film on the first day. I learnt to respect people from Dr Rajkumar and he told me that I acted well when I was just 21. He was a very humble person.  I would come to Bangalore to interact with Girish Karnad and B V Karanth. I am a big fan of Karnad and we never realized what a great man when he was alive’ said Kamal Haasan.

‘Vikram’ marks the return of Kamal Haasan to the silver screen after a gap of four years. His last release was ‘Viswaroopam 2’ which was released in 2018. After that Kamal Haasan was busy in politics and has now back with ‘Vikram’ in which he not only plays a prominent role, but also is being produced by him under Raaj Kamal Films International. One of the highlights of the film is Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles. Kollywood actor Suriya has also played a guest appearance in the film.

The film has music by Aniruddh Ravichander, while Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Master’ fame.
