‘James’ breaks records of ‘Robert’ and ‘KGF 1’ on first day

Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘James’ directed by Chethan Kumar has broken the records of ‘Robert’ and ‘KGF 1’ by collecting approximately 22 crores on the first day of its release in Karnataka alone. The film is expected to join the 100 crore club in 5 days across the globe.

The first day collection record was earlier in the name of Darshan starrer ‘Robert’, which was released last year. The film had collected 17.5 crores on the first day, beating the record of ‘KGF 1’ which had collected 16 crores on the day of its release. Now, Puneeth Rajkumar has broken the previous two records and stands first when it comes to collection on the first day.

‘James’ was released on Puneeth’s birthday (March 17th) across Karnataka. It was released in more than 500 screens and 4000 shows across Karnataka. This is the first of its kind in Karnataka as none of the previous films got released in so many theaters and to that many shows.

The film stars Puneeth Rajkumar, Priya Anand, Sharath Kumar, Avinash and others in prominent roles. Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar are seen in guest roles in the film. ‘James’ is written and directed by Chethan Kumar, while Kishore Pathikonda is the producer.
