Just after Hombale Films announced that it will be revealing details about its new production, speculations poured in about who will be acting and directing the film. Majority of the speculations pointed at Rishab Shetty directing a film for the leading production house. However, the speculations have come true and Rishab Shetty will be directing a film called ‘Kantara – Ondu Dantakathe’ for Hombale Films.

Hombale Films on Friday officially confirmed that its new production will be ‘Kantara’. Rishab will not only be directing the film, but will also script it apart from starring in the lead role. The movie will also feature Achyuth Kumar and Kishore. ‘Kanthara’ is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur and will have music by Ajaneesh Loknath, while Aravind Kashyap will be handling the cinematography.

The film will be officially launched on the 27^th of August and the shooting will follow soon after.

‘Kanthara’ marks the return of Rishab to direction after four years. The actor-director says he is excited to don the hat of a director. He is happy that this time around, Hombale Films is backing the project. This is Hombale Films 11^th production. While, ‘KGF 2’ is ready to hit the screens in the coming days, ‘Salaar’, ‘Bagheera’, ‘Dvitva’ and ‘Richard Anthony’ are at various stages of production.
