Hombale Films had announced a film with Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil recently. The film which has been titled as ‘Dhoomam’ was launched officially on Sunday in Bangalore.
The muhurath was held at Kanteerava Studios and was attended by Prashanth Neel of ‘KGF’ fame and others. Fahadh Faasil flew down from Kerala and attended the launch. Aparna Balamurali of ‘Soorarai Pottru’ fame, who is playing the female lead, was also present during the occasion.
‘Dhoomam’ is the second Malayalam film announced from Hombale Films after Prithviraj’s ‘Tyson’, but is the first film to be launched. Though the film is being primarily being made in Malayalam, it will be dubbed to Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. Though the film has been launched, it will go on floors from November and will be releasing in 2023.
The film marks the debut of Sandalwood director Pawan Kumar of ‘Lucia’ fame to Malayalam cinema. Earlier, Pawan was supposed to direct ‘Dvitva’ starring Puneeth Rajkumar and Trisha for Hombale Films. However, due to the demise of Puneeth, the film did not go on floors.
‘Dhoomam’ stars Achyuth Kumar, Joy Mathew, Dev Mohan, Anu Mohan and others apart from Fahadh and Aparna. Poornachandra Tejaswi is the music composer, while Preetha Jayaraman is the cinematographer.
