Hindi National Language row: RGV, Sonu backs Sudeep

The row over the Hindi being the National Language has taken a new turn on Thursday with Bollywood celebrities including Sonu Sood, Ram Gopal Varma and others supporting Sudeep.

Last week, Sudeep in an event had said that Hindi is no more a National Language. Recently, Ajay Devgan took to Twitter and texted in Hindi that it is indeed a National Language. He also went on to question why are the regional languages being dubbed to Hindi? This has sparked a new row between the North and South. Though this is an old debate, it has re-emerged in the recent weeks since the success of three South Indian films namely ‘Pushpa – The Rise’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF 2’.

Sudeep had given a befitting reply to Ajay Devgan saying that, ‘I did understand the text you sent in Hindi. That’s only because we all have respected, loved and learnt Hindi. No offense sir, but was wondering what would the situation be if my response was typed in Kannada! Don’t we too belong to India sir?’ questioned Sudeep.

Many Sandalwood celebrities including Rishab Shetty, Sumalatha Ambarish, Sathish Neenasam, Ravishankar and others have come in support of Sudeep. Not only Sandalwood celebrities, many celebrities from Bollywood have also expressed their support to Sudeep.

Sonu Sood who has appeared in multiple languages has said that Hindi can’t be called the national language. India has only one language and it is entertainment. It doesn’t really matter which industry you belong to. If you entertain people, they will love, honour and accept you’ told Sonu Sood.

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma has said that the north stars are insecure and jealous. ‘The north stars are insecure and jealous of the south stars because a Kannada dubbing film (KGF 2) had a 50 crore opening and we are going to see the coming opening days of Hindi films’ tweeted RGV.
