‘Challenging Star’ Darshan is all set to celebrate his birthday on Wednesday (Feb 16). Meanwhile, a new film to be directed by Tharun Sudhir is expected to be announced on the actor’s birthday.

Darshan and Tharun share a great bonding. When Tharun made his debut as a director through ‘Chowka’, Darshan had played a guest role in the film. After that the duo joined hands for ‘Robert’ which was a rage at the box-office. After ‘Robert’, the duo was supposed to do a historical film to be produced by Umapathy Srinivas Gowda. However, due to a tussle between the producer and Darshan, the film is more or less shelved.

Now Tharun has written a different subject for the ‘Challenging Star’ and will be going on floors once Darshan completes ‘Kranthi’. This is Darshan’s 55^th film as an actor and an official announcement is likely to be made on Wednesday.

The film is being produced by Rockline Venkatesh under Rockline Entertainments. Earlier, Rockline had started ‘Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka’ starring Darshan. The historical film being directed by veteran director S V Rajendra Singh Babu is said to have been shelved post Covid and in that place, will be making another film with Darshan and Tharun Sudhir.

This is supposed to be Darshan’s 56^th film as an actor. ‘Robert’ was Darshan’s 53^rd film. ‘Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka’ was 54^th and ‘Kranti’ being the 55^th film. However, ‘Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka’ has been postponed indefinitely and technically ‘Kranti’ will be Darshan’s 54^th film followed by Tharun’s directorial, which will be the actor’s 55^th film.
