Dhananjay’s 25^th film ‘Gurudev Hoysala’ which was released on the 30^th of March across Karnataka is now being streamed in Amazon Prime within one month of the theatrical release.

Though ‘Gurudev Hoysala’ got a good opening, it was an average at the box-office.  Performances of Dhananjay, Naveen Shankar and Prathap Narayan were much appreciated by audience as well as the critics. Even though the content of the film was good, the pace and other various other reasons made it an average fare.

In spite of that, the producers were quite safe as they had sold the satellite and digital rights of the film much before its release. They even gifted Dhananjay a Toyota Vellfire car worth more than one crore.

‘Gurudev Hoysala’ is a cop thriller set in the border district of Belgaum. Dhananjay plays a cop called Gurudev Hoysala in the film. The film is based on the honor killing incidents occurred in Karnataka.

The film is written and directed by Vijay Nagendra, who had earlier directed Ganesh’s ‘Geetha’. The film stars Dhananjay and Amrutha Iyengar along with Prathap Narayan and Naveen Shankar are the antagonists, while Achyuth Kumar, Avinash B S, Mayuri Nataraj and others play prominent roles in the film.

‘Gurudev Hoysala’ is produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj under KRG Studios. Ajaneesh Lokanath has composed the songs for the film.
