Director Dayal Padmanabhan director of films like ‘Baa Baaro Rasika’, ‘Circus’ and others have opined that producer Jack Manujnath of ‘Vikrant Rona’ has missed a golden chance.

The reason for Dayal to opine like that is, recently Sudeep starrer ‘Vikrant Rona’ produced by Jack Manjunath had got an offer of Rs 100 crores to release directly on OTT. But the makers decided to take the theatrical route and plans to release only in theaters. 

Dayal says he is happy for his professional friend Jack Manju as he got such an offer from OTT, but also says he is quite shocked about it. ‘I have a fair, in fact deep knowledge about the OTT business for Kannada movies’ says Dayal.

The director says that Jack Manju has missed a big golden chance and preferred to take risks out of passion. ‘Accepting the OTT offer would have helped him to grow his passion towards cinema more. Out of the profit, he could have passionately produced 20 high budget content driven cinemas or two or three commercial cinemas with big heroes’ say Dayal.

‘Vikrant Rona’ stars Sudeep, Jacqueline Fernandes, Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Ravishankar Gowda and others in prominent roles. The film is written and directed by Anup Bhandari. The film will also release in 3D version, apart from being dubbed in various languages.
