Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Chandramukhi 2’ which was supposed to release on the occasion of Ganesha festival has been postponed due to technical delays. The film will now be releasing on the 28th of September.
It has been officially announced in the Lyca Productions Twitter handle today that the film’s release has been delayed. Though it is being cited that technical reasons are behind the film’s delay, sources say the film has been postponed because of ‘Salaar’ effect.
With Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’ which was supposed to release on the 28th of September being postponed unofficially, many films which were supposed to release on earlier are being scheduled on the same date. Ram Pothineni starrer Telugu film ‘Skanda’ which was supposed to hit the screens on the 15th of September was postponed to 28th. Now ‘Chandramukhi 2’ has also followed the same. Both the teams will be getting long weekends and it will be added advantage to both the films.
The makers of ‘Chandramukhi 2’ had recently released the trailer of the film and the promotions are on full swing. Now the postponement has given more time to the team for promoting the film.
Raghava Lawrence plays the role of King Vettaiyan and Kangana Ranaut is Chandramukhi. Oscar winning composer M M Keeravani has scored music for the film. While Lyca Productions has bankrolled the project, veteran director P Vasu has written the story and screenplay apart from directing the film.
