Bhavana Menon breaks silence on the assault case

Actress Bhavana Menon finally breaks her silence on the assault case involving actor Dileep. The actress has shared a note on Instagram saying that for five years now, her name and identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on her.

Bhavana was kidnapped and attacked in 2017, when coming back from shooting of a film. Malayalam actor Dileep is said to be the main accused in the assault case. However, Bhavana’s name and identity was withheld as per the Indian law. Now Bhavana has come in open and thanked everybody who stood with her.

‘Though I am not the one who had committed the crime, there have been many attempts to humiliate, silence and isolate me. But at such times I have had some who stepped forward to keep my voice alive. Now when I hear so many voices speak up for me I know that I am not alone in this fight for justice’ wrote the actress.

Bhavana promises to continue this journey to see justice prevail. ‘To see justice prevail, to get wrongdoers punished and to ensure no one else goes through such an ordeal again, I shall continue this journey. For all those who are standing with me, a heartfelt thank you for your love’ mentioned the actress in her note.

Malayalam actress Bhavana made her debut in Kannada through Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘Jacie’ and went on to act in films like Sudeep starrer ‘Vishnuvardhana’, Ganesh starrer ‘Romeo’, Puneeth’s ‘Mythri’, ‘Chowka’, Prajwal’s ‘Inspector Vikram’, Shivarajkumar’s ‘Tagaru’ and  ‘Bhajarangi 2’, ‘Govinda Govinda’ amongst others. In 2021, four of Bhavana’s films were released in Kannada.
