Well known producer Ba Ma Harish has become the new president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of commerce by defeating senior producer and Kannada activist Sa Ra Govindu by 403 votes.
The elections for the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce have been pending for the last two years due to corona. The 64th elections were held at the Gururaja Kalyana Mantapa in Sheshadripuram in Bangalore on 28th May between 2 to 6 PM. The results were announced late night.
This time the president post was for the producer sector and Sa Ra Govindu and Ba Ma Harish contested for the post. There was a strong fight between the two and Govindu had an upper hand. However, Harish not only emerged the winner, but most of the members from his syndicate has also won and has managed to catch key posts of the KFCC.
While, Jaijagadish and Shilpa Srinivas have been elected as vice-presidents, Sundar Raj and T P Siddaraju have won over as the general secretary and treasurer. All of them are from Harish’s syndicate. Only M N Kumar from Govindu’s syndicate managed to win over the elections.
Sa Ra Govindu has already been a president once and Ba Ma Harish was trying for the post for many years. However, he had lost all the elections he had contested so far. This time with the support from industry veterans, Harish has managed to win over the elections.
