Anushka Sharma is all set to make her comeback to acting once again and will be starring in a new film called ‘Chakda Xpress’ based on the life of ace cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film will be directly released on Netflix.
There was news for a while that Anushka Sharma might make a comeback to cinema once again. Anushka had taken a break to acting after embracing motherhood. It’s been nearly one year since Anushka and Virat’s daughter Vamika is born. Now Anushka has decided to make a comeback and has signed the Netflix film.
On Thursday, Netflix announced ‘Chakta Xpress’ exclusively on social media. ‘Time to scream Howzzat because we can’t contain the excitement to see Anushka Sharma hitting the wickets like Jhulan Goswami. Coming soon’ read the tweet.
Anushka is excited about the project and says it is really a special film. ‘It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. ‘Chakda Xpress’ is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Gowsami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket’ tweeted Anushka.
Jhulan Goswami is considered as one of the fastest bowlers in the history of Woman’s cricket and also the highest wicket taker in Women’s one day international. This is the first time that Anushka will be acting in a biopic and the teaser of the film has also been released.
The film is produced by Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Prosit Roy.
