Actor Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia who was battling illness for a long time passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Many friends and colleagues from the film fraternity offered condolences to the actor and his family on social media.

Akshay Kumar was recently in London for the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Cindrella’. Just when he got the news that his mother is ill and has been admitted to a hospital, the actor rushed back to Mumbai. In spite of all the efforts by the doctors, Aruna Bhatia could not recuperate and breathed her last.

Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and announced that he has lost his mother. ‘She was my core and today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My Maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family goes through this period. Om Shanti’ tweeted the actor.

The film fraternity as well as Akshay Kumar’s friends including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Huma Qureshi, Parineeti Chopra amongst other mourned the death of Aruna Bhatia in social media.
