Rangayana Raghu celebrated his 57th birthday on Sunday. Meanwhile, a new film of his titled ‘Agnyathavasi’ was launched in Bangalore. The film is produced by Hemanth Rao and directed by Janardhan Chikkanna of ‘Gultoo’ fame.
‘Agnyathavasi’ is a murder mystery and Raghu plays the role of a Police Inspector in this film. ‘A murder happens in a police outpost and what all happens next is the story of the film. I play the role of a police officer in the film. I was really excited to hear the story. I had also acted in a prominent role in Janardhan’s ‘Gultoo’ and when he narrated the story, I wondered how all this can happen. But in the next two years the incident really happened’ said Raghu.
Janardhan says the story was narrated by his college lecturer a few months back. ‘He had sent me an audio clip and I was very much excited to hear the story. I called up Hemanth and narrated the story to him for half an hour. In the 35th minute he told me he will be producing the film. This is a story set in the 1990s’ said Janardhan.
Hemanth had earlier co-produced films like ‘Humble Politician Nograj’, ‘Bheemasena Nala Maharaja’ and others with Pushkar and Rakshith Shetty. This time he is producing the film with other friends.
Apart from Raghu, Siddu Moolimani, Pavana Gowda and others play prominent roles in the film. While, Advaitha Gurumurthy is the cinematographer, Charan Raj is the music composer.
