Senior actor Raghavendra Rajkumar has said that acting in a guest role in Puneeth Rajkumar’s ‘James’ is not a promotional stunt and Puneeth does not need anybody’s help to promote his films.
Recently, late actor Puneeth’s elder brothers Shivarajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar are said to have made guest appearances in the film. Though there were attempts to get all the three brothers on board for a film never materialized earlier, this is the first time that the trio will be seen in a film. Though the three won’t be sharing screen space, ‘James’ will have all the three on board for the very first time.
Speaking regarding this for the first time, Raghavendra Rajkumar said that it is not a gimmick to promote the film. ‘The guest appearances were not planned after the death of Puneeth. The team had plans to bring in actors for some cameos earlier also. But recently the team contacted us and asked to do cameos in the film, for which we have agreed. This is not a promotional gimmick. A Puneeth’s film does not require any such publicity gimmicks. He is a star and can pull the audience on his own. We just acted in his fond memory’ said Raghavendra Rajkumar.
‘James’ is written and directed by Chethan and produced by Kishore Pattikonda who had earlier produced ‘Kabira’. The film stars Puneeth Rajkumar along with Priya Anand, Sharath Kumar, Avinash and others in prominent roles. Charan Raj is the music director.
‘James’ is all set to release the film on Puneeth Rajkumar’s birthday on the 17th of March.
